A video on YouTube can save you money!

People searching out your content on YouTube? It’s a dream come true!

 

YouTube have released their list of Top Ten Viewed Ads in the UK. Number 1 was this belter of an ad from T Mobile developed by Saatchi and Saatchi.

Let’s look at some figures.

  • 24 million people have viewed this ad to date. These aren’t passive viewers either – they have actively searched it out and asked to view an ad.
  • @ 12 million people watch X Factor every Saturday. To get the same reach as YouTube, TMobile would have had to run the ad twice – and then they would be missing out on the people who Sky + the programme and whizz through the ads.
  • To advertise during the X Factor is said to cost around £200 000 for a 30 second slot (we’ve also seen figures quoted of £8000 a second, but we’ll go with the lower figure). So to run this ad twice, to get the same reach, would have cost over £1.75M.
So, create good content, get it up on YouTube and share it around. It’ll save you money in the long run!
